Intellex® v1.x to v1.6 Upgrade
In addition to performance improvements, this upgrade
adds the following features:
- The unit diagnoses archive problems more effectively
than previous versions. It also provides more information
about archive operations. New archive options let
you format tapes and recover data from tapes.
- A computer with the Network Client software (version
1.0 only) can access the unit’s status, alarm list
and image database over a local area network (LAN).
The proper network hardware must be installed in the
unit and configured correctly. You may also have to
upgrade the unit’s motherboard. (Contact technical

- The unit supports watchdog operation when the appropriate

System Requirements:
Note: You must perform the run the Intellex
Optimizer prior to upgrading to v1.6. This upgrade
installation applies to any Intellex v1.x. To complete
the upgrade installation you will need seven blank,
formatted 3.5" floppy diskettes.
- Download all seven (7) executable files below.
- Insert a blank 3.5" floppy diskette into your floppy
disk drive.
- Run the first executable file: 16b35disk1.exe.
- Verify that the program will install to the proper
drive. The default setting is the "A:" drive.
- Click "Install" to create the floppy diskette.
- Repeat steps 2-5 for each of the remaining executable
files. Label the disks to avoid confusion during the
installation process.
- After creating the floppy diskettes, proceed with
the installation as outlined in the Intellex v1.6 Upgrade Instructions (PDF).
